From stunning Contemporary Town houses in Dartmouth, to spacious Lutyens style farmhouses, cottages and other self catering accommodation, with sweeping southerly views across Devon, one of England’s larger counties, is a blissful rural area with timeless charm and a relaxed laidback atmosphere. Devon has two coasts, huge granite tors, miles of unspoilt forests, majestic rivers and idyllic small communities.
Dartmouth sits in the banks of the mouth of the River Dart in South Devon. With twisting streets, cobbled market squares and a range of boutique shops and galleries, the charm of Dartmouth is undeniable, and with so much to see and do, self catering Dartmouth cottages are the perfect solution for a family holiday by the sea.
Devon has an array of rustic to luxury holiday cottages, farmhouses and other holiday self catering accommodation. Warfleet Creek is a small triangular tidal inlet in the west side of the River Dart estuary in England. It is near Dartmouth, Devon. It has steep rocky sides. At low tide there is a stony beach with some small rockpools. The creek was home to Dartmouth Pottery, a local landmark building which has had many uses over 400 years, now converted to residential and holiday apartments. Dartmouth is a great town to walk and you don't have to walk far to see some lovely architecture. Many houses and cottages in the town have views of the river and you'll find this one on the left as you take a stroll out to Warfleet Creek.
Start Bay lines the Eastern Coast of the South Hams. Start Bay benefits from a magnificent coastline of high, sweeping clifts, interspaced with long beaches and ancient fishing villages now awash with colour and serving the needs of a modern society, with cafes, shops and old-fashioned country pubs. The area is popular with families, as it is within easy reach of both Kingsbridge and Dartmouth but offers many beaches, though these are mostly of coarse sand.
