Within 7 minutes walk of the villa, is the historic village of Mougins. Typical of many medieval villages on the Cote d'Azur, it occupies a hilltop vantage point with spectacular views across the bay of Cannes towards the Lerin Islands and the Alpes.

Mougins has always been synonymous with Art and with fine dining. There are numerous galleries exhibiting collections of art by local painters and sculptors along with a blend of contemporary and traditional restaurants, all offering the aromas and flavours of the region.

The local architects have remained true to the provencal architecture that inspires artists and devotees of this beautiful region of France.

Each bedroom has its own bathroom, the kitchen is state of the art and the terraced garden has a heated swimming pool and tennis court. Infact the villa has incorporated features that reflect the quality, thought and style expected of such a magnificent property.

THE HOUSE ALSO HAS AN ADDITIONAL BASEMENT LEVEL WHICH HAS A FURTHER BEDROOM, BATHROOM AND AN ADDITIONAL TV ROOM.  THE OCCUPANCY WILL BE LIMITED TO 10 BUT THIS WILL GIVE GREATER FLEXIBILITY ON SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS.

The interiors of the villa are approx. 420m2.

The entrance in to the villa is through a huge oak door into a galleried reception hall. The double height ceiling emphasizes this impressive space.

To the left is the kitchen, with open plan diner, with Double aspect French doors lead onto the first patio and pool area. The bespoke Kitchen is painted in the Provençal style and has chunky granite work tops. It comprises a full range of appliances, including a gas 6 ring hob and oven, American fridge/freezer and dishwasher.

To the right is the lounge with comfortable linen sofas and French doors opening onto an extension of the terrace with sun loungers and a wonderful view of the pool.

Leading on is a cosy snug with satellite French and UK television, VCR and DVD players.

Ground floor accommodation also includes an office with laptop, ASDL connection, fax and land line. The office suite has its own WC and wash basin. This room is suitable for two children to sleep on single folding beds/travel cot and single bed.

On the ground floor level, there is a charming guest suite comprising of a bedroom with double bed 160cm, with ample built-in wardrobes and a bathroom with a walk-in shower and bath. Accessed via the snug, it is a private wing of the house and has its own terrace accessed by French doors. The bedroom is double aspect allowing access to the pool.

This is a room for extended family or friends who may wish to retain some independence. 

Bedroom 1, is a twin with double aspect over the gardens and breathtaking views of the mountain villages of Cabris and St Vallier. The en suite bathroom utilises the signature Mediterrean finishes(repeated throughout the villa) of raw marble and terracotta.

To the right is the Master suite. From the galleried hall, there is a sensational space for reading or enjoying breakfast. The sumptuous bathroom has - double sink unit, huge bath, walk in shower and WC. View again over the mountains and amazing light. The bedroom is a joy and you benefit from a lovely terrace where you can see across the garden, pool area and tennis court.

Bedroom three is a twin with views over the garden. The en suite is spacious and features a huge shower.

Bedroom four is a double with charming en suite bathroom.

By closing the inter connecting door you can annex bedrooms three and four to comprise a family unit and this is ideal for sharing households.

The four upstairs bedrooms have air conditioning.

 

The  stands in approx. 6000m2 and offers a traditional Provençal garden, making use of the ancient terraces and is themed with blue and white plants. There are luscious beds of lavender, trailing magnolia and rosemary, all amongst the gnarled, solemn olive trees.

There is a heated (optional) swimming pool which will reach a max. of 29 degrees but does take 7 days as it is a larger than average swimming pool, 14 metres. The pool is equipped with an alarm, and tennis court for leisure activities and a 'cuisine d'ete' (covered terrace) for barbequing or for enjoying an aperitif, which is the epitome of life in the Cote d'Azur, living outside and enjoying the long summer evenings. 

A deposit of 50% of the total rental price is taken at the time of booking. The remainder is due 8 weeks before the date of arrival.

Prices are quoted in euros per week. This includes bed linen, bath towels, pool towels, a weekly change of linen and 3 hours of housekeeping per day (excluding weekends).  There may be an additional charge for telephone/internet use. Final cleaning is payable at 300 euros.

A security deposit of 5000 euros is required against accidental or wilful damage to the owner's property or possessions. This is fully refundable within seven days of departure, subject to the property being left in good condition.

Insurance is recommended, to cover accidental damage to fixtures and fittings, as those in the villa are of a high quality and expensive to replace.

Caterers, airport transfers or extra housekeeping can be arranged, depending on renters requirements. These are all payable locally in euros.

The villa is available for rental from 1 May until 30 September, other periods are negotiable, depending on length of stay etc.

The French Riviera has a very stable Mediterranean climate.  Spring, summer and autumn are always sunny and the winters are gentle.  The summers can be very hot.  Rainfall is infrequent and rarely lasts long occurs mainly in March-April and October-November
