Romantic, Private, Peaceful Villa With Breathtaking Views To Morocco in Gaucin village near Ronda.

- The village centre is 5 minutes walk away where you will find tapas, restaurants and shops.

The villa is at the southern edge of Gaucin village, near Ronda, Andalucia with an infinity pool set amongst exotic palms amidst rocks in 1 acre of mature Mediterranean garden. Gaucin is 600 metres above sea level and the villa affords spectacular open views down the Genal River valley to the Mediterranean, Gibraltar and North Africa beyond.

While the villa has a Spanish style, it is architect designed with an open aspect facing south providing shady terraces in the summer while allowing warm sunlight in the winter. The garden has mature palms, large rocks around terraces as well as wild olives and carobs with many songbirds on top of a hillside at the edge of the pretty 'white village' of Gaucin.

It has to be said that possibly the best view you will see in Spain. A truly stunning property with 'wow factor'!" It is maintained and equipped to a high standard.

A few extra notes:

- We have a team of gardeners, an efficient pool cleaner, a charming and helpful House Manager and two lovely girls who clean.

- Parking is directly outside the villa and there is always space

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Children are welcome but parents must consider that there are stairs down to the pool and steep drops below it, so young children PROBABLY UNDER THE AGE OF 10 YEARS  will need constant supervision AT ALL TIMES.

The 4th and 5th bedrooms are set up as a studio apartment that can be let separately outside the summer season. There are other terraces around the garden. The 4th & 5th bedrooms (the Studio) are part of the main house (outside access, down 13 steps).

There is a terrace overlooking the garden with table and chairs - watch vultures & eagles soaring overhead. Its an exceptional place for bird-watching (see list). There is a gas BBQ. From this terrace steps lead down to the pool from where you can look out over the gorgeous wild countryside of the Genal valley to Gibraltar, almond blossom in Jan/Feb, and on clear days, the mountains of North Africa. There are no close neighbours so it is very private, secluded and not overlooked. The pool has sunbeds, sun umbrellas and shaded area with table and chairs. The pool has an underwater ledge where you can stand and look out to Africa where the Rif Mountains are visible on clear days.

Although we are part of the village, we are on its edge at the top of the hillside so its extremely private. Gaucin is one of the attractive 'white villages' of the Serrania de Ronda. Perched below the ruins of a Moorish castle at about 650m altitude Gaucin has marvellous views of over 100km on clear days.

As one of the larger villages, it has more facilities than most others, particularly in season. There are restaurants, tapas bars, a flamenco bar, small food shops and an ATM all within walking distance. The pace of life is still pretty slow & traditional for the local people.

The area is wonderful: small villages to explore, caves, excellent bird-watching all year round - not forgetting the spring/autumn bird migration, wild flowers in spring, a street 'bull-run' at Easter (not everyone's taste but part of local culture), tennis, walking, riding. Ronda is interesting historically & also has real charm - its the big town in the Serrania and local people go there for everything they can't do locally.

Not far away are the beaches of Estepona, the Atlantic coast, golf courses, Puerto Banus, Marbella and the historic cities of Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba.

A deposit payment of 50% of the total cost is required. Final balance required 8 weeks before departure date. A security deposit of £200 will also be taken to cover any damages or breakages to the property.

Minimum booking period is 4 nights low season, 7 nights peak.  Changeoverday can be flexible in low /mid season.

Beach and pool towels provided.

Quite simply the best week of my year! We come every year but have not left a review for a while. The villa is a beautiful, peaceful haven with stunning views located a 5 minute walk from places to eat or drink should you wish to venture further. The space is so well designed that you can spend as much time relaxing alone as you wish but can also make use of the large, outdoor communal spaces when you all want to get together and socialise against the backdrop of views that stretch to the rock of Gibraltar and the north African coast beyond. The tough part is you want to come every year:)

Gaucin Jewell Wow. Stayed in this wonderful hillside oasis in August, it was an amazing holiday experience. We were two couples and 3 teenagers. The property was more than big enough for us all, big comfortable rooms, great facilities etc. Outside the terraces, the garden, the views and the pool were just wonderful. At times it just takes your breath away, looking across mountains, the valley, out to Africa, sitting by or lazing about in a brilliant pool. The scenery was made all the more amazing coupled with sounds of the odd goat or horse and with the flight of some graceful and inspiring 'vultures'...yes who knew vultures were graceful! The town is small and quiet, though there are plenty of places to eat, buy groceries etc. The standard of cooking in several local restaurants was as good as you will find anywhere and the service matched, attentive, personal and original. A short week felt (in a very good way) like a much longer recharge, as you just take time and calm to the pace of warm mountain living. Of course every now and again we just went a little crazy in the pool, diving through rings, playing Marco Polo and having the underwater Olympic challenges....that's what teenage boys and Dads need. Couldn't praise this place more highly. Thank you for a stay we will always remember

What a fabulous place. It was more beautiful than we imagined and the views every morning continued to take our breath away, time and time again. The house is super comfortable and we loved cooking in the kitchen and having long lazy lunches on the terrace. Sleepy afternoons spent by the magnificent pool were some of the most relaxing weve ever had. Evening dinners in the beautiful village were always delicious. Cant think of a more idyllic place to spend a week

The Mediterranean coastline is suitable for beach holidays all year round and Andalucía has an excellent climate.  Spring and autumn (March until June and September until November) are beautiful seasons - the temperatures are warm and sunny.  July and August is the peak months and have the highest temperatures but the heat can be dry. Even in December and January coastal temperatures can be perfect for sunbathing, even though the locals wouldn’t agree!  However, be aware that it does rain sometimes in winter and the Atlantic coastline of Cádiz can be very wet.
