Situated directly on the bank of the River Thames with its own fenced garden with outstanding views across the river towards Wittenham Clumps. Thames Lodge has use of a river frontage when booked in conjunction with Court House but if let independently of the main property which sleeps 16 in it's own right then guests have use of their own private garden only albeit with stunning views.

Contemporarily furnished to a high standard, Thames Lodge makes a perfect retreat for families and small groups of 6/8 seeking that something a little exclusive and secluded, yet only 7 miles to Oxford city centre and 45 minutes from London. Situated within the small hamlet of Burcot on Thames.

Walking distance of good local The Chequers and the Seven Stars As well as other excellent establishments such as The Crazy Bear or the reknowned Manoir Aux Quat Saisons.

During the Summer months the garden & grounds provide the perfect setting for Al-fresco dining, barbecues and picnics with the breathtaking view of the river. All large supermarkets deliver supplies to Thames Lodge and for special occasions we can recommend bespoke catering services.

During the Winter months it is a romantic retreat or just weekend to get away from it all whilst enjoying the delights of Autumn, Winter or Spring.

Local attractions include a Salters Steamer Boat, which can be caught from Oxford and back to Days Lock and a walk taken back to Thames Lodge, or Nuneham Courtney’s arboretum can be visited - full of amazing trees, plants and beautiful peacocks.

Oxford weather can be quite unpredictable at times as it is affected by the continental climate. The summer months from May to September are generally the warmest months with the most days of fine, sunny weather but there is some rainfall during these months too. The autumn and spring months are a mixture of sunny, rainy and cloudy days.  The winter months from November – February is the wettest months and can be quite chilly but the temperature rarely drops below zero.
