Set in the Tuscan hills between Cortona and Mercatale, this exquisite 6 bedroom manor house is the ideal retreat for those wishing to enjoy idyllic and peaceful surroundings in extreme comfort.
Villa Casale has its own meadows and olive groves, a private lake and numerous woodland walks whilst still being within easy reach of many of the major Tuscan and Umbrian towns.
Designed and renovated by a renowned interior designer, Villa Casale exudes sophistication and tranquility.
The villa enjoys lots of space both internally and above, externally. Large showers, wood beams, oak ceilings and stone doorways all assist in combining to create a unique and luxurious getaway.
It is the panoramic open agricultural landscapes of the 'senese', the area of Tuscany south of Siena, where many return. Delight in sampling the local wines in 'enoteche' of the wine centres of Montalcino and Montepulciano, enjoy the classic vistas from Pope Pius 11's Renaissance jewel, Pienza or bathe in the thermal springs at Bagno Vignoni with its view over abandoned hill top fortifications.
All these places are accessible from one of our villas in the ever changing landscape of the Val d'Orcia, and located not far from Villa Casale.
Dramatically placed on a hillside overlooking the valley of Valdichiana, with views of Lake Trasimeno and Monte Amiata, is the Tuscan hill town of Cortona. Whether it's a wander through the cobbled streets, a visit to the antiques market or a delicious al fresco meal in one of the trattorie, a visit to Cortona should not be missed as part of a Tuscan holiday.
Inside the Property
Ground Floor: The spacious kitchen/dining room, provides the latest equipment in elegant surroundings. Through two Roman capitols, you leave the kitchen and enter the large hall and from there, the double doors open onto an exquisite arched loggia. The huge table of reclaimed oak is a wonderful place to enjoy lunch and look down on the olive groves and the infinity pool below.
The drawing room, a large and extremely spacious room, is furnished with a graceful and understated style. The sofas are deep and comfortable with supremely beautiful artefacts and paintings surrounding the room.
The study is charming and more intimate.
There are two double bedrooms on the Ground Floor. One may be made up as a twin, if required and has a walk in shower with twin sinks. The second double bedroom has a four poster bed with a roll top bath and walk-in shower.
First Floor: There is a galleried sitting room with sofas, which is a wonderful space to retreat to. From two of the first floor terraces you can see castles on the distant hilltops.
The Master double bedroom has a marble bath and walk-in shower. There is a twin bedroom with bathroom en suite, a double bedroom, a double bedroom with shower room en suite, a further double bedroom, which can be made up as a twin, if required, a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.
Each bedroom and bathroom is dedicated to comfort without losing any of
the integral charm of this beautiful house. The bathrooms are
characterized by the magnificent free standing bath, large walk-in
showers, antique marble baths and the bedrooms by the four poster beds
and antique furniture.
Outside the Property
It is difficult not to be overwhelmed by the setting and the stunning far-reaching views to the distant hilltop villages and castles. The pool is set amongst the olive trees, sculpted into the grounds, with an infinity edge that disappears into the spectacular backdrop. The pool has built-in steps and is open between May and September. Outside these dates, the pool can be opened on request for an extra charge.
Surrounded by 34 hectares of its own land, all fenced to maintain the safety of the natural environment and the protection of the animals that live within the woods, it provides the perfect backdrop for the truly idyllic holiday.

Booking & Payment Info
A 30% deposit must be paid along with a security damage deposit of
1500 euros at the time of booking.
The
full balance of the rental price including any charges (made by any
supplementary invoice) must be paid 8 weeks before departure.
Insurance
must be taken out in order to cover all clients and their holiday
arrangements.
Once a booking has been confirmed any changes will incur a £30 amendment fee per person in respect of each change to cover costs incurred. Changes cannot be made within 42 days of departure.
All cancellations by Client must be made in writing from the person who signed the booking form, either by recorded delivery or fax. If the cancellation notification is received 43 days or more before the departure date, only the holiday deposit and insurance premium is forfeit. Within this period the following percentage of the total holiday price will be payable as a cancellation charge by the Client:
Between 42 - 28 days before departure 60%
Between 27 - 15 days before departure 80%
Between 14 and the departure date or later 100%
Linen and towels provided once per week on Saturday. Extra changes are available on request, for an additional charge.
Maid service, 2 hours, 6 days a week.
