Property Description

The former property of one of the richest silk merchants of Lucca, Casa Pescali nestles amongst terraces of silvery olive groves, North West of the city. Today, this former farmhouse and barn, has been restored by craftsmen and decorated in a warm country style to offer a most inviting holiday home.

Some guests will want to relax by the pool, enjoying the views and local wine, others may wish to leisurely explore the walking trails connecting local hamlets, nestling in the hills and to visit the local olive presses. Informal restaurants are tucked away in the surrounding countryside or in nearby villages.

The English speaking owner of Casa Pescali lives in Lucca and is a professional cookery teacher. If in residence in Lucca at time of your rental, she will be delighted to warmly welcome you by telephone to her home and give you her personal recommendations for restaurants, wineries, speciality food shops and markets.

PLEASE NOTE: We regret that we do not permit pets nor smoking inside the property.

For all periods of rental, linen and bath towels are included in the price, however please bring your own beach/pool towels.

Staff - 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. A Cook is available on request.

Inside the Property

Inside the farmhouse

The entrance into a very spacious and sunny sitting room with a fireplace, is decorated with pretty colour-washed walls in a warm country style, country furniture with marble tops, antique pieces and kelims, run much of the width of the ground floor. With light streaming in through the windows, this is gorgeous luminous space, and many books and paintings add a personal touch.

The adjacent kitchen which opens on to the garden, is painted a deep golden yellow, has marble topped work surfaces bordered with beautiful hand painted yellow and blue tiles. There is also a utility room.

On the first floor level, three double bedrooms are also decorated in this warm country style with sponged walls in green, blue and vanilla.

The Master double bedroom has a beautiful shower room en suite with a large marble-topped sink and a walk-in shower in-laid with pebbles.

One double bedroom has a shower en suite, and the other double bedroom has a few steps down to a bathroom en suite.

BARN:

Steps lead down from the main villa to the Barn, set on a lower level, with a further sunny and panoramic sitting room which has a terracotta wood-burning stove.

The breakfast room with kitchenette, all decorated in this most attractive, warm country style, opens out to the pool terrace, where there is another shower room.

There is one twin bedroom with a bathroom ensuite and a double bedroom with shower room ensuite.

French windows lead out from the Barn to the pool terrace. Guests can enjoy drinks and candelit suppers either here by the pool, or on the terrace outside the main kitchen.

Outside the Property

The lawned gardens at Casa Pescali are dotted with mature trees, shrubs, roses and aromatic herbs, including broom, rosemary, sage, mint and lavender. The views from the property and the pool area, of a nearby hunting medieval hunting lodge and a hamlet with a Romanesque church, are simply magnificent.

Booking & Payment Info

PAYMENT: Bookings will be confirmed, subject to availability on receipt of a signed booking form and a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total rental.

The balance is due 9 weeks before arrival.

A security deposit of Euros 1000 is payable locally in cash on arrival. The security deposit will be returned to you at the end of your rental, subject to any breakages or damage to the property.

Rental price includes bed, bath and kitchen linen, utilities, and use of baby cot and/or high chair, if required.

Maid service 3 hours a day, 3 days a week
