Property Description

Aubenas-Les-Alpes is a tiny hamlet set in the Luberon countryside, just 15 minutes from the pretty town of Forcalquier.

Le Chateau perches high at the top of this tiny cluster of houses and enjoys completely private, gated grounds, including an olive grove, surrounded by forest.

This wonderful property, once the summer retreat of Charles de Voland (the son of Charles II from his second marriage) has been restored internally to the highest standard whilst the exterior and garden maintain their historic grandeur.

Inside the Property

Le Chateau du Luberon is 16th century history meets unpretentious minimalist chic.

Inside, the house can sleep up to 12 (although a maximum of 8 adults) in 4 well appointed bedrooms. Space is abundant with long hall ways, huge rooms and high ceilings, but it has been cleverly thought out with many interconnecting doors and rooms, so that the space is useful and cosy and not overwhelming.

The furnishing is minimalist style, with tiled floors and every modern convenience thought of.

On the Ground Floor, there is a breakfast room, a dining room, a sitting room, a study, a well equipped kitchen and a Guest WC.

On the First Floor, there is the 'Tower' Double bedroom and  bathroom with over head shower and twin sinks, a Double bedroom with shower room en suite, and the Master bedroom with en suite bathroom.

The Twin/Children's bedroom is spilt over 3 levels, with a sitting area downstairs and 4 single beds upstairs, plus a sofa bed for 2 children, this area can sleep up to 6 children, making it an ideal children's area.

It is not recommended for elderly people or young children as the stairs are quite steep. There is also a WC.

 

Outside the Property

The swimming pool is next to the house with a large sun terrace and plenty of quiet, shady corners in which to relax and enjoy a quiet glass of local wine.

Booking & Payment Info

A 25% deposit is payable at the time of booking. The balance is due 9 weeks before departure.

A security deposit of£750 is taken a the time of final balance, this is to cover any breakages or damage to the property during the rental period and will be refunded within 21 days of your return.

The property rental is for 7 nights for a maximum of 12 people occupying the property, including utilities, bed, bath and kitchen linen.

Check in is not before 1700 hrs on the arrival day and the villa must be vacated by 1000 hrs on the day of departure.

There is maid service for 3 hours, 4 days per week.
