Property Description

The villa has an ideal location for exploring the region from the provencal villages of St Tropez, Gassin, Grimaud or indeed to explore the St Tropez peninsula with it's beautiful nature. The supermarket and the Pamplonne beach are at walking distance 1 km but since the area is very rural we recommend a car.

Ramatuelle is a beautiful perched village set high above the Mediterranean sea of the St Tropez peninsula. The villages were originally created to escape the pirates who terrorised the Mediterranean waters below.Ramatuelle sits above the famous Pampelonne beach - famous for both its role in the Allied landings and its reknown as one of St Tropez's main beaches ( Club 55, Nikki beach, Tropicana etc)Ramatuelle covers the top of the hill and its pleasant narrow streets meander around the town in a circular pattern. Near the top is the Place Gabriel Peri, formerly called ‘Castle Square' for the seigniorial home of the Seigneurs of Audibert.

The main historic sights in Ramatuelle are the Church of Notre Dame which was built in the 16th century against the protective ramparts. Its bell-tower doubled up as a look-out post.

Really though it is the whole ensemble of Ramatuelle that is the reason to visit. Its narrow, shady streets, the stone buildings covered in bougainvillea, the stone gateways - part of the town's defences, and the view from the car park which looks out over the surrounding vineyards and the southern end of Pampelonne beach with the light-house at Cap Camarat. (This light-house is the second highest in France and you can see Corsica from the top!)

Ramatuelle's main square, just outside the stone entrance gateway, is the Place de l'ormeau (Elm Square) and here are a few bars and restaurants where you can stop for refreshments.The village generally is known as an arts and crafts centre and there are a number of little galleries to visit as you wander round.

The wonderful village of Gassin is also not far away . The only negative would be the close proximity of the road but it not distract from this high quality rental property. I spent one week in this villa and I was not disappointed. The welcome from the owners was very warm and the villa, very pretty. We were with friends and were able to make the most of the swimming pool and Jacuzzi. The position of the villa was very peaceful and we really appreciated the calm setting. The bedrooms are spacious and the house well decorated. The villa is close to St Tropez, to the beach, to a supermarket, all making our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this villa for families and groups of friends wanting an enjoyable holiday. July 2011

Inside the Property

A beautiful american kitchen with living room and TV corner, 4  bedrooms with air-conditioning. In the living room there is also a sofa bed.

Two of the bedrooms have normal doubles 140x190 and two others have larger beds 160x200.  One of the larger beds can be split into 2 singles if required.  Plus there is a sofa bed in the living room if required.

There are 2 Bathrooms and 2 Separate WC's. There is a bedroom with bathroom (shower + toilet) There is a second collective bathroom with shower + bathtub. There also is a separate toilet upstairs and at the entrance  of the property.

Outside the Property

A secure private garden with a private heated fenced swimming pool and Jacuzzi.  There is a dining area for 14 persons with a gas barbeque, another terrace with a relaxing sofa and two seats.

The property is good for children as it has a large flat lawned garden for ball games and is secure.

The property has 8 sunbeds for your use, 2 parasols and further seats available,  two parking areas, electric security gates and can accommodate 8 vehicles if required.

Booking & Payment Info

PAYMENT: A deposit cheque/transfer for 50% of the total cost is required at the time of booking. The final balance is required 8 weeks before the arrival date.

A bond/security deposit is also taken to cover telephone and any breakages. This will be 3000 euros in High Season and 2000 euros in Low Season.
