Property Description

Villa de la Fontaine translated "the house by the fountain" is a beautiful modern villa in a truly stunning location just above the picturesque historic protected medieval village of Camelas.

This totally private property enjoys an elevated unique position providing it with one of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the whole of the region.

From the Cathar castles of Queribus and Peyrepertuse across the plains to the Pyrenees Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, it really is quite special.

The villa is open year round and offers a haven for lovers of peace and quiet with its secluded and tranquil location, and yet it is just a 8 minute drive to the 'chic' market town of Thuir. The sun kissed Mediterranean beaches, cosmopolitan Perpignan, Spain and the Pyrenees Mountains area all within a 30 minute drive. The winter ski resorts are just one hour away. 

NOTE: We are pleased to advise you that pets are allowed by arrangement. Smoking is permitted inside the villa.

The villa was lovely and suited our needs perfectly, shame the pool wasn't a bit warmer but I suppose it was still early in the year and it didn't stop our enjoyment. Inside the Property

Interior description

The accommodation is spacious and comfortable and has recently been tastefully redecorated throughout.

You enter the Villa into a very large Lounge/Kitchen dinner. There are three sets of double French windows in this 8 by 7 metre room all leading out onto the floodlit terraces, making the villa very bright and airy.

The kitchen is modern and fully equipped with a large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, electric oven and hob and microwave. Perfect for a self catering holiday.

The lounge/dining area has a large oak dining table, chairs, comfortable leather sofas and a modern, fully enclosed 360 degree wood burning stove that is an imposing centre feature. The sofas maybe used as double beds, should they be required. There is a TV with French and British channels, a DVD player and a hifi system.

From the lounge area, all the bedrooms are on the ground floor.

The first double bedroom has a shower room en suite and a door that leads out to the floodlit swimming pool terrace.

The second bedroom has a set of bunk beds, making it ideal as a children's bedroom.

The third double bedroom is the Master bedroom which has double French doors leading onto the floodlit swimming pool terrace.

The fourth bedroom is a twin bedded room, which can be made up as a double, as required, and has French doors leading out onto the rear terrace.

There is a full bathroom, with bath tub, shower, wash basin and bidet. There is also a separate WC and wash basin.

There are electric radiators throughout the villa making it very comfortable for out of season lets.

Outside the Property

The swimming pool terrace is very private and where guests pass most of their time, when home. The pool terrace is floodlit at night, making it a perfect place to enjoy al fresco dining or a BBQ.

The swimming pool is completely fences with a lockable gate making it safe for families with young children. There is ample room to sunbathe on sun loungers provided.

A table tennis table is also provided for further entertainment.

At the back of the house, there is a very necessary shaded area, perfect for reading, snoozing or relaxing.

There is secure parking for up to 8 cars.

Booking & Payment Info

To reserve the property, the client must complete and sign the booking form and return it, together with a non-refundable deposit equal to 25% of the total cost of the holiday.

The remaining balance, including the security deposit, is payable not less than 8 weeks before the start of the rental period. Reservation made within 8 weeks of the start of the rental period, require full payment at the time of booking.

A security deposit of £150 per week or part week of a rental period is required in case of damage to the property or its contents. However, the sum reserved by this clause shall not limit the client's liability to the owner. The owner will account to the client for the security deposit and refund the balance due within two weeks after the end of the rental period.

The rental price includes electricity, gas, water, swimming pool and garden maintenance. There is also a high chair and cot available, if required.

Lettings are from Saturday to Saturday.

The rental period shall commence at 4.00 pm on the first day and finish at 10.00 am on the last day of the rental period.

There is a final cleaning charge of 50 euros, payable on arrival, in cash.

The maximum number to reside in the property must not exceed 8 unless the owner has given written permission.

A linen pack can be ordered for £6 per person, per week. Should the rental be for 2 weeks, it is possible to opt for a 1 week linen pack and wash the bed linen during the rental.

A Gourmet meal on arrival, or during the rental stay! Choose from an extensive menu and a restaurant quality meal ready on arrival at the villa. This is often very welcome after a long day of travelling. The menu is sent at the same time as the directions to the property. This service may be ordered at any time during the rental period but a minimum of 24 hours notice is required.

Horse riding can be arranged, whether you are an expert, a novice or a complete beginner. What could be lovelier than a ride through vineyards on a trail that takes you through, and a long the river.

A local wine tour can also be arranged. See and taste some of the best wines in the region.
