Property Description

This beautiful privately owned family château dating back to 1792 is set in 4.5 hectares of private grounds and gardens. The château is situated on a hilltop next to a small 12th Century church (which is not in use), overlooking rolling countryside with outstanding views and quiet surroundings. The closest town is Cancon, which is just a 7 km drive from the Château, and has an outstanding bakery, along with a weekly market.

The interiors of the château have been beautifully decorated and furnished with family antiques and portraits. It does have many hunting trophies of animals so please be warned if you have children that do not like this sort of decoration.

This property is ideal for a large family or group of friends who appreciate tranquillity, history and beauty in this particular region of France.

Due to its location in the quiet Lot-et-Garonne region 10 km south of the Dordogne border, trips to the Dordogne for sightseeing are easily feasible.

Also ideal in pre- and late season due to central heating and open fires for chilly evenings.

Inside the Property

The inside of the château is a warren of rooms, each painted in vivid, regal colours with wall decorations ranging from stag heads to plate collections to family portraits with plenty of open fires throughout.

There is an entrance hall, a drawing room, a dining room, a library, a breakfast room, a utility room, an attic with billiard and pool tables, and two cellars. The Chateau has a large flat screen TV, DVD player and Wifi.

The kitchen is modern and fully equipped.

There are 4 bedrooms; 3 double bedrooms, 1 single room, where an additional bed can be placed and 1 children's bedroom with bunk beds.

There are 3 simple bathrooms two with showers, one with a bath and one with a sit bath. There is one separate toilet, and 4 WC's.

Baby cots, children's beds, high chairs, play pen and children's bicycles are available on request.

Linen and towels are provided, please bring your own pool towels.

 

Outside the Property

Outside the property, there is a swimming pool which is located within walking distance from the château, next to the courtyard. The pool has a shallow end, entrance steps and is fitted with a pool safety alarm. There is plenty of comfortable pool furniture and sun loungers.

There is a a pool house which has a terrace, a barn with a ping pong table and a dart board, along with various garages.

There is a walled terrace next to the kitchen which has a dining table and barbecue for al fresco dining. It is a large terrace ideal for entertaining as it has two split levels one for drinks and then an area for seating.  A most wonderful location.

Final cleaning, Linen and Laundry		180 euros based on 6 persons		For additional persons an additional charge will be made of 20 euros per person
heating in winter and low season		200 euros		this includes logs for the open fires as well

Booking & Payment Info

PAYMENT: A deposit cheque/transfer for 50% of the total cost is required at the time of booking. The final balance is required 8 weeks before the arrival date.

A bond/security deposit is also taken to cover telephone and any breakages.
