Property Description

The Blanshard family welcomes you to their Château, situated in the National Park of Normandie Maine. The Château welcome gives the impression that you are living in your own French Château with all the comforts that one would expect, tucked away in idyllic seclusion in the Normandy countryside.

The Château dates back to around 1750 when it started life as a private home. In the early 1900's it was given to the Church and turned into a retreat for priests. It was at this time that the house gained many of its present features such as the chapel which we now use as a dining room and function room.

Normandy has a well earned reputation for its gastronomy and we aim to use locally produced meat, cheese, butter and cider to create memorable meals for all our guests to savor.

This cottage within the grounds may be rented on a weekly basis. It offers spacious and comfortable accommodation for six people. There is full central heating for all year round use, and a log burner in the lounge. There are two double bedrooms each with king-size beds and another bedroom with two single beds. The accommodation is on two floors.

WEDDINGS, FAMILY CELEBRATIONS AND CONFERENCES

The Chapel situated on the first floor can comfortably provide an ideal venue for groups of up to 60 people, for weddings, family celebrations or conferences. The Chapel can be furnished to best facilitate the occasion and meet your individual needs. It is available all year, has full central heating, and a commercial kitchen is also available to provide a professional standard of catering.

We can arrange anything from colour coordinated decorations and flower arrangements, providing specific menus, to finding ministers/priests to perform marriage vow ceremonies. The price for the use of La Chappelle, depends on how best we can meet your needs and expectations, and is therefore based on your individual requirements. Please feel free to contact us to discuss how best we can accommodate you and your guests, we will then be able to give you a detailed quotation for your planned event.

Inside the Property

The ground floor consists of a lounge with dining area, complete with a log burning stove and both English and French free to view satellite television.

The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped (including dishwasher, and washing machine), with French doors onto a private terrace and barbeque area providing access into the cottages garden. There is a bathroom with separate toilet and one of the double bedrooms is on this level.
On the first floor is the second double bedroom complete with en-suite shower and toilet facilities. Across the landing is the third bedroom with two single sized beds.

The cottage can be used as totally self-catering, but should you wish, meals can be provided in the chateau.

Outside the Property

All guests have of course full access to the gardens and park surrounding the chateau, enabling you to enjoy the tranquility and beauty of the Normandy countryside.
